The Ghana Agricultural Insurance Pool (GAIP) is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to providing innovative and affordable insurance solutions tailored to the specific needs of farmers across Ghana. Established in 2011 through a collaborative effort between the German Development Organization (GIZ), the National Insurance Commission (NIC), the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), and various government agencies and agricultural stakeholders, GAIP was formed to address the risks and uncertainties that farmers face daily. From unpredictable weather conditions and crop diseases to market fluctuations, we strive to mitigate the financial hardships that these challenges can bring.

Our primary mission is to safeguard farmers against these risks, thereby enhancing their resilience, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and contributing to food security across Ghana. By offering a wide range of insurance products such as drought index insurance, multi-peril crop insurance, and livestock coverage, GAIP ensures that farmers have the financial support needed to recover from losses and continue their essential work.
